Graduate Programme

Our Graduate Sales Nutritionist programme started around July 2016. Like most businesses in any industry we all struggle to expand our teams with fully experienced nutritionists, therefore as a business we decided to start our own graduate sales nutritionist programme.

This programme also allowed us to create a strong succession plan therefore ensuring stability within Davidsons Sales force going forward. The graduate scheme has already proved very rewarding with some of our graduates already being promoted to Sales Nutritionists with their own customer ledgers.

For the team overall, youth brings excitement, competitiveness, drive and enthusiasm which is infectious to everyone else in the team. Our team dynamics have totally change for the positive. Our scheme has been so successful we were looking to employ another two new graduates.

We currently have a vacancy in our Cumbrian and Dumfries and Galloway regions. We are also always keen to talk to any young agricultural graduate from anywhere within our trading area who would like to develop a career in sales & ruminant nutrition.

I am also pleased to announce we have just started our newest Graduate Sales Nutritionist Miss Laura Wight. Laura comes from Townfoot, Carwood and Midlock farms, between all the farms they breed pedigree and commercial sheep and cattle such as Scottish Blackface, Bluefaced Leicester’s, Beltex, Scottish mules, Charolais cows and Charollias sheep.

Laura has a Bsc in Applied Animal Science Edinburgh SRUC, she joined us in June this year for work experience whilst she decided what career she wished to pursue. Laura did so well with us during her work experience we decided to offer her a graduate trainee role supporting our senior sales nutritionist Steven Turnbull, Steven manages the Borders and Northumberland, his area spreads from Biggar over to Berwick and down to Northern Northumberland.
